Native to the Midwest, Whorled Milkweed (Asclepias verticillata) grows almost anywhere and is a pollinator magnet, providing nectar to all bee varieties, hummingbirds, butterflies and much more. This perennial wildflower blooms a brilliant shade of white, almost light green, in the summer months. Extremely easy to grow, we recommend thinning plants at the end of each season to prevent aggressive spreading.

Poor quality and sparse quantity.

"I was very disappointed to get such a small amount of seeds for the money plus the Joe Pye weed I ordered was all shrunk up, just a very tiny sprig. I planted it but it looked so dead it probably will do nothing."

Growing for the Monarchs

"Ordered these in the fall. Although the instructions don't say, I put them in my freezer to cold stratify. Beginning of March I planted some of them in a pot on a heat mat. They sprouted in just a few days. They're now under lights. Hopefully they'll continue to grow into healthy seedlings and feed the Monarchs."
