Better Than Butter Bearded Iris is dressed for spring with cheerful layers of soft yellow ruffles. Creamy white standards are edged in lemon yellow, and the lovely falls are faded honey yellow, with a rich gold beard. Fragrant, long-lasting flowers bloom from early to late spring. Description

(41" tall x 12-24" wide) 'Better Than Butter' Bearded Iris is noted for its fragrance and beauty. Snow white standards trimmed in yellow highlight the lemon-yellow petals below. Plant it where you can enjoy the fragrance, along a path, near an entrance or deck, or in a perennial bed where its height stands out. It harmonizes nicely with Peonies, Salvia, Delphinium, and other Bearded Irises. Plant in a sunny location in enriched garden soil with good drainage slightly above soil level. Water as needed to keep the soil moist as the plant gets established. Once established this is a drought-tolerant, deer and rabbit resistant perennial that will naturalize over the years with ever-increasing flowers.
