Why Plant A Wildflower Mix? We've been crafting and refining wildflower mixes since we first began selling seeds in 1981. With over four dozen choices, we have mixes based on geographic regions, bloom cycles (such as All Annual Mix and All Perennial Mix, and many special purposes (such as Dry Area Mix, Wildlife Habitat, and Partial Shade Mix). All are easy to grow and have been designed to provide a long season of blooms.
Designed by The Seed Man, Mike Lizotte, exclusively for American Meadows.

"I didn't like the touch me nots. Also several of the sunflowers didn't bloom properly. Several of the flowers also ended up with white mold."
"The color variety is so much fun! Every few days something new is blooming. I've planted my seeds in a small garden in the front of my home and have several sunflowers poking out the top and many more blooms on the way. I planted a little late this year so am excited to see what August brings."
"I sowed my seeds in early spring (followed the instructions provided online), and I've been so happy with how well my makeshift meadow has done. Pictures do not do it justice! I've had continuous blooms from mid-July throughout August, and they look like they'll continue into September. I've gotten tons of compliments on my flowers, and love to see the constant stream of pollinators visiting. The only small downside is that I haven't seen all the flowers included in the mix pop up, but I'm aware that growing conditions and location may also impact this. Overall, I am very happy with the color and flower variety though!"
"These flowers are really pretty! They give me a lot of pleasure. I enjoy just going outside to look at them. The colors are bright and draw the eyes! They grow tall, and are very sturdy. I lost a lot of my flowers on the other side of my house due to our maintenance man spraying weed killer too close to my garden, but I have these flowers, so I get to enjoy some of my beautiful flowers!!!! "I was extremely excited about this bunch of cut flowers that I paid a lot of money for. I spread them all over follow the directions exactly and nearly half of them never sprouted, half of them were eaten and diseased half of them aren't even a foot and the other half are about 2 feet but not as abundant as it explains. I'm so very disappointed in these."
"I planted these per all instructions provided/doing research for a raised garden bed. The smaller varieties of the flowers that are supposed to be in the mix, like cosmos, don't have enough area to come up through the much taller varieties - looks like they will be sunflowers. So far I have not been able to cut any flowers at all (as of July 12th). I can see some amaranth coming through but really not much of anything else. Disappointed."
"I planted a 30' x 50' meadow with these seeds. I watered until they reached approximately 8-10" and then left them alone. Very easy to grow and very rewarding."
"Have ordered these two years in a row for a large meadow area. Additionally, put in numerous varieties of wildflowers. Only the cosmos did well. Some of the sunflowers came up. Some of the zinnias came up overall disappointing results. Part of it may be attributed to the drought."
"We planted this mix in front of our barn, and we planted it during a really bad drought year so I had concerns - especially when our well started failing! So we weren't able to water the mix as much as we would have wanted, but we ended getting a great germination anyway! It's got a great seasonality to it, great early baby's breath to the long blooms of the cosmos and sunflowers and all the others sprinkled in. The batchelor's buttons and calendula really stood out as well. My favorite was when the Mexican Sunflowers started coming out later on. We got a late planting, so there was even more to go by the time our first frost kicked in. Would absolutely recommend this mix! One of my favorites!"
"We love this mix! First time sowing and it was a huge success. We tilled up our yard (did not remove all grass) and the seeds spread well as described when mixed with play sand and spread with a hand spreader (and stomped into the soil)."
