White Squill marks winter's end with showy spikes of star-shaped blooms, each petal with a blue stripe down the center to lend flowers a delicate elegance. These award-winning bulbs are easy to grow with loose spikes of long blooming flowers from late winter through early spring. (Scilla mischtschenkoana or Tubergeniana)
(4-6" tall) White Squill brightens woodland gardens and
border plantings with loose flower spikes lasting several weeks. The small
blooms provide an early source of nectar and pollen for bees. White squill is a
favorite bulb for massing around the base of deciduous trees and shrubs, where
plants receive ample sun during bloom time before the trees leaf out. White
Squill is hardy in zones 4-9, where the deer and squirrel resistant bulbs
slowly naturalize and spread to form small clumps. Provide a site with full to
partial sun during bloom time and a well-draining soil. Lovely planted in
drifts among other spring bulbs. Allow the strappy foliage to die back
naturally as plants enter summer dormancy. White Squill received an Award of
Garden Merit from the Royal Horticulture Society.

"I planted a bunch of different fall bulbs into my lawn last fall, to get a stinzenplanten look. The squirrels went to town on some varieties, but these white squill, the grape hyacinth, daffodils and crocus were all left untouched! I'm so happy to see them come up this spring. It's been a long winter, and I'm glad the squirrels left me a little something!"

Pretty, but not quite like the picture
"Put in the front of a border in front of some shrubs with various other bulbs. The stripe was hardly pronounced on most of the bulbs and there was a purplish tinge to some that I was not expecting. Other than that they are pretty and healthy."

Small and petite plant. Early bloomer
"Every bulb performed beautifully. I just didn't realize they are such small blooms. Definitely would purchase again. Great for early spring borders in swaths."
— Justme (4/5)
Beautiful!
"I planted these bulbs last fall. I live in a warmer climate (zone 8), so I waited until after Nov 1st to plant them. I just stored them in the fridge until them. They all came up, and are absolutely beautiful little plants. They were the first thing in my garden to bloom, and a very welcome sign of spring!"
