12-18" tall x 12-18" wide. Aster 'Wood's Purple' is a tried and true disease-resistant perennial that brings charm to formal beds and wild gardens alike. With its burst of star-shaped blooms in contrasting purple and gold, this compact variety is meant to carry a full mounded shape but small overall size, making it a great addition to borders, walkways and patio containers. Bred for resistance to rusts, mildews, and other diseases brought on by humidity, 'Wood's Purple' prefers full sun and average to moist soils. Clean and healthy foliage means that this plant will hold its good looks deep into fall. An indispensable plant for butterflies, bees, and other pollinators who rely on its nectar as other food sources dwindle in the late-season landscape.
