Sensational!â„¢ Lavender is an improved, easy-to-grow variety that makes growing lavender accessible to more gardeners than ever! Silvery foliage is topped by large, dense purple flower spikes. With a compact, dense habit and notable durability for sun, heat, and humidity, as well as cold tolerance, Sensational stands apart from many traditional Lavender varieties. A favorite of honeybees, these fragrant flowers will attract a wide range of pollinators. (Lavandula x intermedia)

They both died

"My order arrived when I was on a 3 week vacation. I had tried to have it delayed but they couldn't do it. I had instructed my friend to open the box, place it out of the sun and water it occasionally. Unfortunately the two lavender did not make it, overwatering I think. The others all appear to be doing well"

Big & Fragrant!

"Planted 4 along the walkway to my front door & they provide such a nice welcoming scent. Had to move a couple because they grew to 3. 5 ft wide & 2. 5 feet tall. They are on year 3 now. The plants were healthy from the start & I had no idea they would explode like they did. The bees love them. Makes me happy to see them feasting away in the summer."

plants came looking like past their prime

"i bought several of these and they all came looking like the plant was barely hanging on. since then 2 of them are starting to show the beginning of some growth. though 2 of them are looking like they are borderline on if they will make it. they have faded to grey and have not grown any."

So disappointed -- Sensational It Is Not!

"We are starting a U-pick lavender farm in Eastern Iowa. We order Sensational Lavender last spring and last fall, from American Meadows and other vendors. We grew some other varieties that I didn't think would survive our winter, but they did. Sensational lavender did not. Sensational lavender didn't survive our cold, wet spring either. Most other less-robust varieties did. I was so disappointed. I expected this new, big, (supposedly) hardy lavender to green up and grow early. Sensational did not. Those Sensational plants that did survive are the last to green up and grow in late spring, well behind all other varieties. I'll never buy more Sensational lavender. Phenomenal lavender was another big disappointment. I'll stick with old standards and other varieties."

Second order as promised

"Again very pleased with our order. The shipping is still excellent as for the packaging. The plants were a bit smaller than the fall order but still very healthy with a well developed root system. Will look into other plants to order from American Meadows."

Definitely ordering from American Meadows again.

"Bought these to add onto our lavender selection at the farm. So far very pleased with the plants. They arrived very quickly after shipping. Roots are well formed and the packaging was outstanding. So far pleased with American Meadows now lets see these perform."

Amazing fast growers

"I planted two of these in autumn & by early summer, they were growing fantastically and fully blooming. I am super impressed and definitely want more - even though I'm not even sure where I'll fit them!"
