Fashionably Early Princess' Phlox PP#28680 is the first one to the party, blooming in mid-spring before most garden phlox have even woken up. There's no waiting on this diva! Generous amethyst purple flower clusters attract pollinators and add charm to spring displays. Plant in rich, well-drained soil that receives sun to part shade. Exceptional mildew resistance. Description

(28-36" tall x 26-30" wide) 'Fashionably Early Princess' Phlox PP#28680 will drape a blanket of imperial purple blossoms across your spring garden, boasting leathery green leaves that add to her appeal. The flowering panicles (branching clusters of flowers) of this phlox bloom two to three weeks earlier than traditional garden phlox, and are on the taller side. Use 'Fashionably Early Princess' Phlox to create dynamic succession planting schemes, to ensure a beautiful garden filled with steady blooms. Plus, 'Fashionably Early Princess' provides essential early spring nutrition to pollinators. With an early start, 'Princess' blooms with a long season, unencumbered by the flower-busting heat of hot summer. An all-around great perennial that's well suited to cottage gardens, a woodland edge, and traditional settings. 'Fashionably Early Princess' spreads by underground stolons (horizontal runners), making it easier to divide than traditional clumping types. Plant in rich, well-drained, moisture retentive soil in a sunny to part-shade position -- flowering is reduced with less light exposure. This hybrid phlox is bred for exceptional mildew resistance, like others in the Fashionably Early series. (Phlox paniculata)
