How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
(16-26ā tall x 12-18ā wide) Adding drama and flair to your garden beds and containers, āCaptain Violettaā Calla Lily is much-used flower in professional and home arrangements. Deep green foliage is spotted with white, and emerges from spring planted rhizomes as temperatures rise in spring. In mid summer, beautiful half-cones of violet-pink unfurl around a light yellow spadix. Plant rhizomes in late spring after danger of frost has passed, and strong, white-spotted foliage will emerge as temperatures rise. Calla lilies prefer shelter from afternoon sun, which can burn the foliage. In hot climates or where beds are dry, the plant will die back and go dormant after flowering. In cooler climates, lift the rhizomes in fall and keep dry and cool in a dark basement or garage for planting out again next spring. Callas are seldom severely damaged by deer in the landscape.

"I saw these in the garden at my Church. Looked diligently until I found them here. I think I may have planted them too shallow - needed to stake them, but they are still gorgeous and have bloomed continuously since they achieved maturity. The bulbs were not sent out until May 22. My location suggests planting after May 15 so I lost about 10 days that they could have been growing. . . . . but worth the wait!"
"This the perfect summer flower! I've seen calla lilies in bouquets but never knew how easy they were to grow. I planted these in Zone 6 at the end of March and by mid-June the plants were in bloom. Perfect as cut flowers, they last over a month if you change the water. I got compliments from our mail carrier and she sees a lot of flowers."
"I tried one for a sample run. I put it in a pot and waited. WOW! These flowers came up late June but keep flowering. I will buy again since it seems easy to grow and no pest. They are beautiful just like the picture."
