They bloom almost like magic, you'll love all the fantastic colors, and your neighbors are sure to be jealous!
Planting & Care
Growing Gladiolus: Everyone knows gladiolus, but not every gardener knows how easy they are to grow. The original "glad" was a wildflower from South Africa called "sword lily", which was imported into Europe in the 1840's. As with almost every other bulb, the Dutch went to work and created a grand rainbow from a quite lowly flower.
Put them close together so you'll end up with a mass of color, not just a stick here and there. One of the things that makes growing gladiolus so easy is that the plants take up almost no space. You can easily pop in the bulbs between other more permanent plants. Just find the spaces in your garden, put in the bulbs in.
And everyone knows gladiolus are great in a vase. So be sure to plant plenty where you can cut them. They're inexpensive, and few other flowers give you so much color for the cost. When frost threatens, you can just forget them, and buy new ones in spring, or dig up the bulbs and store them until the following spring. Don't hesitate. Enjoy gladiolus this summer. You can't have too many.

BEAUTIFUL!!
"I am a beginner gardener and these did not disappoint!! They are beautiful and growing gorgeously! Easy instructions. Planted in March as bulbs and they're blooming beautifully now at beginning of June! Only pit fall is once they bloom they start to droop and fall because they're heavy. They may be better planted very close together to hold each other up."

Beautiful so far.
"They grew tall and very lovely, But only getting soft pinks and darker pink."
— Bud (5/5)
Vigorous growth and beautiful colors
"I planted these in a raised-bed garden there were one or two dead bulbs (out of 30), but the others were vigorous and made beautiful, brilliantly-colored flowers. I cut some and enjoyed some uncut in the bed. Some of the plants spun off additional shoots, which also flowered. This fall, I am expecting to harvest more bulbs than I planted."

So disappointed
"I got the Sunset collection two years ago and loved the vibrant, almost fluorescent colors. So, I ordered this Rainbow collection of 50. I planted them where they get 20 hours of sun. I got five stems of flowers out of the 50 bulbs. So disappointing."

The glads came back!
"Shocked they came back this year! I live in zone 3, in Vermont! My sister gave them to me."
— Anne (5/5)
2nd year & the stems are almost 5 feet high
"I went outside on my lunch hour and noticed that my gladiolas grew to about 5 feet tall. I'm 5'4 and they come up to my chin. I've never seen anything like it. They haven't flowered yet. I put in last year and they were about the average height and very pretty. Darn deer ate the flowers so hopefully with them being that high in the raised bed they won't be able to reach them. I sprayed them with deer repellent but I don't think they liked that too much and wilted. Overall I would buy these again."

Fireworks!
"These Rainbow Glads are like fireworks at the end of the season. I have bought them 3 years in a row and found them to be the most reliable explosion of color. Some dry years or high pest years when our garden is struggling these Glads never fail or disappoint. I know the gardening season will end with a colorful display. The colors are timed brilliantly and appear at successive rates."
— Brandon (5/5)
Yes, definitely buy more for next year
"Use in different arrangements around the house"

Love them but disappointed with high quantity of whites
"High quality bulbs, a majority of which sprouted and successfully flowered. I ordered 100. Some of the colors in my mix were exceedingly beautiful! Of the 100 bulbs I planted, I had four pink & red bi-colored 'That's Love' glads in my mix, and two beautiful magenta pink ones. There was only one bright yellow and one true red. Sadly, more than 1/4 of the mix was plain white. There were 37 whites from the time I started counting (so in reality, there were probably more)! I was a little disappointed to end up with so many whites in a mix that was labeled as "Rainbow", especially because most of the photos don't show many whites."
— CoffeeAndChlorophyll (4/5)
Amazingly beautiful blooms in many colors.
"I have tired to grow Gladiolus before, but now in Northern Mexico these are the highlight of my garden. They are blooming tall above the other flowers and make perfect cut flowers that last days."
