"We had an awful invasive vine at the end of our driveway. It took several days and a lot of arm strength to remove it all. I wanted to replace it with something beautiful and beneficial to the pollinators. This native mix with easy-to-follow instructions was the perfect thing to put there. The neighbors have all stopped to admire and spot all the different types of flowers. The bees and butterflies love them. I can't wait to see what pops up next year."
"I followed your sowing instructions of just tossing them on the soil and not scratching into the soil. I prepped the soil beforehand by laying a thick layer (4-6 inches) of very aged leaf compost on top of the bed in which they were planted. Then ran through the entire bed twice with my Mantis tiller. Then the seeds went on toward evening and overnight it rained. Perfect! Some seeds started germinating within. week and then everything kicked in. Did all this around Mother's Day. Now I have a gorgeous multi-colored 6w x 25l ""field"" of wildflowers on the south side of my house. Couldn't be more pleased. - Dennis Scholl, Hellertown, PA"
"A 3 x 30 foot section of the front lawn was carved out to create a mini-meadow. I tried NE Wildflower Seeds but had awful results but American Meadows sent replacement. I left the remains of the flowers over the winter but the patch didn't look promising so contacted AM for their thoughts and agreed the harsh winter weather had affected it. I decided to try the PA Wildflower Mix as I liked the colors. I rototiller the patch several times and planted. However there were several heavy rains, flooding which pushed a stream through the patch pushing the seeds and dirt out. I scooped up what I could and put back in the patch and grew frustrated as even in April it was struggling. I planted some zinnias and vincas around to at least see some color. By late May some green was popping thru and the heat in June really pushed the growth. So far, I have only been able to identify 9 of the proposed varieties for the PA mix. Only one, Black-eyed Susan is a perennial. There are more to come so hoping more will emerge. I would buy the mix again as I like the colors however, more perennials would be preferred."
"This is the second year buying this mix. The first year it didn't grow for some reason (assuming it was my fault because I had never done the wildflower thing before). They did grow this year and in the one patch that gets full sun they're doing very nicely. However I am disappointed that I didn't read more carefully because I thought I was getting native flowers. Also my fault, but still disappointing."
"This is the second time in 15 years that we did some major landscaping that required a large planting area to eliminate erosion and add beauty to the property. This wildflower mix is an excellent option for attracting bees, butterflies and hummingbirds and offering a "no mow" solution with cut flowers for many months. What a fabulous array of color and variety! Friends have come to pick bouquets of wildflowers and have raved about the plentiful blooms. This mix is the perfect background to the new solar array! Thank you!"
"The wildflower mix couldn't be easier to plant! We put down the seed on the far end of our lawn, which borders on a farmer's field. There is a water drain pipe there that we wanted to cover and also control water flow. We just left it to nature (hose wouldn't stretch that far!) and were thrilled with the abundance of 8' flowers that are still blooming in October. We will be getting more for our slope along the road that we don't like to mow."
"We are very happy with this mix. Very long bloom time, vibrant flowers. We get tons of complements from our neighbors and strangers driving by. Make sure you follow the planting instructions for best growth."
"The seed mixes are great with very few weeds in them."
