Plant a colorful mix of ornate, petal-packed blooms with the Tecolote Ranunculus Mix. Also known as Persian Buttercups, these are cool-season blooms that produce magnificent, rose-like flowers. Blooms emerge from ferny foliage in late spring. Ranunculus are often grown specifically for cut flowers, as the soft blossoms add sophistication to any arrangement. Order these for fall delivery.

A successful zone 5 experiment !

"Ranuculous is said to only be hardy to a zone 8 I live in an area said to be zone 6 but I'm in a colder microclimate on the north side of a ridge getting lett sun than the surrounding area and staying frozen solid for much longer, 2 years back I spring planted Ranuculous and got a couple decent blooms and dug them up with my dahlias well come spring I missed a few because they came up all by themselves even without additional mulch! So I fall planted Ranuculous and threw a whole wheelbarrow of pine needles on top of them for frost protection and they amazing! Even after a week of sub 0 temps not getting above 0 even during peak day temps! They bloomed wonderfully! Next year I will knock some of the pine needles off the top because it was warm enough down there they sprouted while still covered with pine needles and were weak because of it, not thier fault because i failed to check on them. Looking forward to more nice full Ranuculous again next spring!"

Not a single flower from 12 plants

"I was extremely disappointed with these ranunculus. I bought the pack for my mother for Mother's Day, and sadly, we have not gotten one single flower. 3 of the 12 bulbs grew into plants, but they were extremely flimsy and weak and looked off the whole time. They slowly withered away in July. They were watered (but not overwatered) and there were no pests on them. Seems like they were just not healthy to start with."

Disintegrated

"I followed the planting instructions and when they did pop up in Spring when my tulips and other bulbs were up, I dug down and discovered the bulbs had broken down and fell apart. So disappointed! I'm zone 4 and planted them in a protected spot under mulch. Maybe zone 4 is too cold for this variety?"
