True to its name, SUPERSparkler™ Blue Ox Sedum is one tough, handsome customer. Thick, succulent leaves in a cool steel blue form a tight, multi-branched mound through spring and summer, then shift to dramatic, near-black tones in fall and winter for four-season color.
Unlike most stonecrops, Blue Ox is non-flowering, so there are no spent blooms to cut away and the mound stays neat from spring through winter. It was bred for superior resistance to disease and rot, and like all sedum it thrives on neglect, showing its best blue color in full sun and dry, well-drained soil. Tuck it into rock gardens and perennial beds, use it as an edging along walkways, or pair it with other succulents in containers. Its cool blue sets off hot-colored perennials and blends beautifully with silver foliage and grasses.
