Young but healthy
"The plant was very small when it arrived, but adapted well with being planted in my North Carolina clay soil, with some minor amendments (mostly some compost but not much). I've heard its better to get trees and shrubs very young though, as they adapt faster and begin flourishing. It's color is a brilliant deep burgundy, almost purple in color now in December, more beautiful than the bright red depicted above. I am zone 7b and it is holding it's leaves. It has beautiful little white flowers as depicted in the spring and healthy looking green foliage through the summer. I have it in my garden surrounded by pollinator friendly flowers and next to my veggie patch. It has already sent another shoot out to naturalize/spread in the area. i have allotted it a 3ftx3ft space for it and can't wait until it fills out more. it's about 3ft tall. So far it is one of my favorite purchases."
