Moody, shimmering and utterly unique, Smokey Mountain Mint brings a misty palette to the garden. Its foliage blends silvery gray-green with rich, smoky purple tones, while silvery, bract-like leaves frame clusters of delicate white flowers speckled with lavender at the tips of tall, square stems.
This native hybrid blooms from early summer until frost, becoming a nectar hotspot for bees, butterflies, wasps and beneficial insects. Crush a leaf and you'll release a pleasant minty fragrance, and deer avoid it. Use it in pollinator gardens, native gardens and perennial borders, where its cool color offers contrast. It combines beautifully with other strong growers like coreopsis, heliopsis, goldenrod and bee balm.
