"The tubers were healthy and extremely affirming with initial growth. Then they got leggy which I read could be from too little sun. Tried to gradually give them a bit more sun but then they got scorched leaves. They are blooming now but stalks are gangly and need to be supported. Hopeful for next season to try again. The 3 in a shallow pot did better than too much root space. I'm learning and begonias continue to fascinate me. Fault is in gardener not quality of plant."
"I am finally getting blooms on all of the plants. But, I am not getting the yellow. Mine are just all red with yellow stamens. I also saw huge leaves before buds, so I pinched back on the leaves at the root of the branch. By thinning it sent the nutrients to the blooms instead. I mean I had some huge "elephant ear" type leaves. I did get flowers outside my bedroom window, so I can't complain to much."
"I was concerned the bulbs wouldn't grow; some damage while being shipped. Had mostly foliage, only a few blossoms."
"Every tuber came up in the greenhouse over the spring. They bloomed July August September. Will winter them over in the greenhouse."
"I bought this late in the summer, put it in a bucket, and got a full display on our well. Still blooming, 10/23/13 (before our first hard frost!)."
"I planted these in pots on the deck and I am awed at the big, beautiful flowers thriving in the shade! Perhaps I didn't follow instructions or maybe I had some storm or critter damage, but some of my flowers leaned w-a-y over as if the stems (stalks) are not strong enough to support the flowers. I was supposed to mulch, but didn't have any mulch and skipped that step. I staked one and re-potted two and they are looking good!"
