Karma Prospero is a dahlia that never looks quite the same twice. Its blooms settle somewhere between soft pale pink and lavender, shifting with the weather and the time of day, so a single plant can read blush in the cool of morning and lilac by late afternoon. Darker lavender highlights deepen toward the center of each flower, giving the soft palette a gentle, luminous depth.
The form is serene and elegant, with gracefully layered, upward-facing blooms about 5 inches across that open like a waterlily. They are held on remarkably straight, sturdy stems in a rich dark chocolate tone, a striking contrast that brings a calm, romantic note to the border and blends beautifully with silver foliage, deep plums, and airy grasses.
Prospero belongs to the Karma series, a line of dahlias bred specifically for the cut flower industry, and it shows.
