"Beautiful and impressive leaves! I love elephant ears and decided to try this one! I am so glad that I did! I love this plant!"
"I put the giant bulb in the ground with little amendment to our native clay soil, although it is a pretty rich soil from past plantings. It did nothing all through spring and never sprouted. Finally in early summer I dug it up and noticed it had a tiny mushy spot, was probably too wet and soil too heavy. Cleaned it up, put in a container and within a few weeks I had a proper plant. Leaves are nowhere near as big as the pictures, but they are pretty beautiful and large (but caution - prone to breaking from wind during storms)."
"Thanks to American Meadows for standing behind your products! These plants were provided as replacements for a different variety of elephant ears I bought the previous year which did not do well. These plants have been an outstanding addition to my garden. I think two things have helped make these plants work better. First I have always found upright varieties perform better in my area (north Texas) and I planted these into a large pot rather than directly in the garden where there is a good bit of competition for root space."
"Use this product as a garden pant"
"Purchased two bulbs one sprouted the other took forever and months later looks like a standard small elephant ear. I realize that it takes years for bulbs to mature and attain the size that is advertised. I'm hopeful that next season will be better."
"Bulb concerned me at beginning of the season as it started to rot. Uprooted, washed off, replanted in alternating sun light. It began to grow. . . . . Made 2 strong plants out of this bulb. about 1 1/f ft tall now. Really strong. Used 20-20-20 if that helps"
"Have been satisfied with this purchase"
This will be the biggest thing in your garden – Maybe even the biggest in the neighborhood! The Upright Elephant Ear quickly shoots up big, green spears that unfurl into some of the largest leaves in the plant kingdom. In good soil, the leaves can reach 4 or even 5 feet across. Just one big bulb will create a large leafy plant, like a tropical fountain of green.
Gardeners love this exotic favorite as a screen or as a background for smaller plants and flowers. Always a highlight in any garden, and very easy to grow and care for.
