How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
The slender, dark green, grass-like foliage of this summer bloomer is topped with flowers for several weeks in mid summer. Rain Lilies are deer-resistant blubs that prefer moist but well-drained soils in full to partial sun. Though they're hardy to zone 7, gardeners living in can treat Rain Lily as an annual, growing it in a container instead of in the ground. Rain Lilies are easy to overwinter by lifting the bulbs and storing them for the winter, or by dragging the pot into a garage just before frost arrives. Also known as fairy lilies, these natives of the New World naturalize easily in the southern US, but they're a delightful mid-summer surprise for gardeners everywhere.

"It is very slow to perform, only a blade or two showing frim each bulb . . . definitely no blooms yet."
"We planted a small memorial garden in honor of my best friend "Jimmy" who passed in February. We planted these bulbs early spring and they started blooming within weeks, and we are still seeing blooms in August! One of the very few plants that deer do not devour in our yard. The color is striking. Think "flamingo pink". They our little treasures that continued to surprise me as they bloom during the hottest summer we've had since moving to WV. I hope they will overwinter, but just in case they do not, I have also planted some in a pot that I will take indoors for the winter."
"Love these flowers. So pretty after a rain."
"I have had Rain Lilies for year, I plant them in container in staged areas so when it rains I have a a lot of color popping all around the yard. I split them up and share with friends. They are gift that just keep giving."
"The pink rain lilies are adorable, super easy to grow in your garden or containers. I grew mine in pots and they did great! The flowers are dainty and adorable little blooms of joy that peek up straight at the sun."
"Bulbs planted in pots. Have raised Rain Lilies before, they will continue to bloom until frost when they must be brought in. Just water and occasionally fertilize, I use a liquid drops fertilizer in the water, and they will continue to produce blooms. Every couple of years you can dig up and divide the bulbs and share with friends and family. They will not over winter in Kansas so I bring the pots in my basement every year at frost and put them out the first of May. It took my just planted bulbs just over two months to produce the first blooms."
"I planted these in my flower garden this spring as instructed when they were received. Lots of green has come up but with all of the rain that we get in Florida, I've received only 1 bloom."
"These little beauties popped up quickly in the pots in my container garden. The blossoms are petite, and vibrant pink. I couldn't be more happy with them. Great for a border, in containers, and would be lovely with some hyacinth, dwarf irises or daffodils"
"Great border"
"This is my first time ever ordering online and growing from bulbs. The rain lilies robusta bulbs came in good conditions with clear instructions on how to plant it. I was skeptical at first if it will ever sprout but after a month it sprouted. It has been blooming ever since, now is it's sprouting babies. Will finish transplanting all of them from pots to the ground in our front garden this fall. Grateful to American Meadows, they know what they are doing!"
