extremely happy with purchase

"bought this to plant along a section of fence. tired of weedeating it. planted in late april- just as flower babies were sprouting (and sprouting nicely) our area flooded. my yard was a mess. nothing compared to others who had house flooding. but at least 90% of my flower babies were lost. 1/4 lb. seed is alot more than i realized- so i had only used about a 1/3 of what i ordered. iwas planning on staggering over a month. so i replanted just as soon as it was dry enough. i planted along about 14ft of fencing-there is about a 2ft area that sprouted sparsely. and it has a clay texture. when i was preparing the area i added good soil to that small area -but nothing fancy - just mixed in some bagged miracle grow soil. so after the 2nd babies sprouted - i spread out what was left of the seeds. the area is full and starting to flower the past couple of days. even the small clay area has some flowers. looking forward to watching this area bloom. i did very little weeding. i'm just happy as can bee!"

Lovely, but not what I expected

"Sunny hot summer area in Salt Lake City. Redoing a clay, alkaline grass/weed hill abt 10x100ft. We prepped by tilling and trying to get all the grass and weeds out, then mulching. Weren't able to plant till late spring. We used yellow mix, red mix and red poppies all mixed together. Planted by directions. Surprised to see sunflower seeds [dwarf sunspot]. In huge areas crowded out everything else. No golden tuft grew, lovely coreopsis[my new favorite], cosmos pink and white but no sulphur at all [pretty though], spring flower was tidy tips [little flower and so lovely], we got absolutely no lupine or primrose [wrong climate?], very few coneflower and blackeyed susan [really have to search to find them in other flowers]. All in all so fun to see all the beauty and get neighborly compliments. Very difficult to weed large area without stepping on flowers! Think I will try again to till weeds then plant in rows next year."

Second year better than the first

"Through sheer neglect, the flowers this year are amazing! I literally have done nothing but sit back and watch this year. Last year (the first ) all I did was scratch the very poor soil, spread the seeds and keep it wet until they were 6-8" tall. I am so impressed that I got the butterfly/hummingbird mix for another part of my yard and they are coming along beautifully."

Fingers crossed

"I've used these beforehand had best results with the coreopsis and gaillardia. Shostakovich daisies too! I am filling in empty spots this fall, in my meadow, fingers crossed more will grow. Be patient, it takes. Couple of years. . . . And keep the weeds and grasses away. Ants the most important part."
