"I planted a wildflower meadow on a sloped area of my yard that faces south. This area originally had grass that had a hard time growing with the south exposure and had several bare patches developing. I wanted to create a wildflower meadow to bring color to this area of our backyard garden. The results have been amazing and it has created a tiny ecosystem of birds, pollinators, and more. The key to success is the preparation of the planting area. I followed the video tutorials provided by American Meadows to prepare the ground and the results have been incredible."
"I would like to see my community here do more of this. Our elevation is 6500' and dry. It was easy to grow. The preparation was the most work."
"Ordering again!!"
"I'm waiting another season to decide whether I would recommend this collection for my high mountain area. I was hoping for more variety. This year I pretty much only have red poppies blooming with a few other types here and there. I'm hoping others will appear later this summer or next year. Even the poppies did not bloom until late July, but that is probably due to my high elevation of 9000' here in Colorado. I tilled the ground last Fall and planted the seeds mixed with sand for summer blooms. I plan to add additional seeds this Fall."
"Large area (75ftx15ft) wild flowers. Plant flowers seeds each late fall. Planting adjacent to golf course fairway , so very visible. New home is designed " prairie modern " , flowers compliment our architecture design."
"Seeds were planted in early June, I believe the birds ate half. Then I lightly mulched with straw and the remaining seeds grew. I thought they were quite slow so I watered every 3 to 4 days. By July the plants had colorfully exploded despite the heat on the south side of the house (only weeds before). I'll try fall planting in an area between the sidewalk and street, less bird pressure in the fall. Will also mulch on top of the seeds so they should be more protected from the birds in the spring."
"I spread the whole bag on fresh soil and watered daily. I have at best a a handful of plants sprouting - none of them have even grown much - been over a month. Sad batch of see."
"I decided to replace grass on the side of my house that was not used and taking too much water. The area is sun and part shade and we're at 8,000 feet. I wasn't sure if I'd see the results this first season (sowed seeds beginning in June) but they are beautiful! Hoping next season will be even better."
"I am a novice gardener. Had a sunny spot in my back yard and always liked wildflowers. The seeds started quite slowly, but then they just took off. The flowers are in my backyard along a public bike/walk path and I get daily compliments from passersby. I rarely review purchases but these have truly exceeded my expectations."
"I used them in an area of my yard that was full of California natives. I had some large barren spots where I planted these seeds."
