Comments about American Meadows Northeast Pollinator Wildflower Seed Mix:

The sloped backyard always ended up with dead grass and bare patches each summer. Thought we would try wildflowers for a more attractive low maintenance alternative. Definitely a lot of work up front to prep the site (remove grass and weeds) and then almost daily watering in the hot, dry stretches. But well worth the effort. The annuals have been blooming like crazy and wildlife seems to enjoy the flowers. No longer watering and plants seem very happy. Very excited to see the perennials start flowering in the coming years.

Comments about American Meadows Northeast Pollinator Wildflower Seed Mix:

Following construction here at my home, I had a huge amount of bare earth. A senior citizen and newly widowed, the amount of mowing on this hillside was daunting, so I threw wildflower seeds in one corner that I decided not to mow. The spots of color this summer have provided moments of beauty and joy with no maintainence required.

Comments about American Meadows Northeast Pollinator Wildflower Seed Mix:

We had a hillside that was just full of weeds and ugly half-dead grass. 1/2 pound of NE Pollinator Wildflower Mix and 1/2 pound of Butterfly and Hummingbird Wildflower Mix later, we have gorgeous flowers that line one side of the drive home.

I cannot say enough for this product. My husband forgot to inform the landscapers of our little hillside project so for WEEKS they were weedwacking the new greens, thinking they were just more weeds. When they stopped, I thought we'd lost all the new plants, so I threw down some more seeds, and just a few weeks later we had GORGEOUS color all over! We love looking out the windows to see the butterflies gather, and it's so much fun to walk along the drive and watch the bees do their work.

We are just thrilled and greatly anticipate next year when the perennials appear (though it's hard to believe that our little wildflower garden can get any better)! Attached are some pictures that do not do the garden justice at all. The colors are just vibrant. Highly recommend!

(Note: Since we used two different wildflower mixes, not all flowers pictured will be from the NE Pollinator mix.)

          Q & A

          Plant With These:

          USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

          • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
          • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
